Family LawDebra Stephens is Counsel at Tupman & Bloom LLP, where she practices exclusively in passing of accounts, guardianship, fiduciary appointments, estate administration, mediation, and estate and trust litigation. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1982 and began her career at Mills and Mills, where she spent 18 years before narrowing her focus in 1998 to estates, trusts, and capacity matters. In 2008 she was appointed The Children's Lawyer for the Province of Ontario, a role responsible for legal and clinical services for children in estate, tort, and family law proceedings. She later practiced at Goddard Gamage Stephens and WEL Partners before joining Tupman & Bloom in 2019. Debra frequently acts as an estate trustee during litigation or as counsel in that role, and she has taught estates and trust law as an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto and lectured at Osgoode Hall Law School. She holds an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School and a B.A. from Queen's University.
