About Amanda
Amanda Bettencourt is a partner whose practice has centered on wills, estates, trust, and capacity litigation since she was called to the bar in 2016. She represents beneficiaries, trustees, executors, and attorneys acting under powers of attorney, along with clients facing financial vulnerability and capacity concerns, appearing before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Court of Appeal. Her time at the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee gave her particular insight into matters where estates, capacity, and family law overlap. Amanda earned her JD from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she held a health law internship at the Advocacy Centre for the Elderly representing seniors in elder abuse cases, and also worked with the Workers' Rights Division at Parkdale Community Legal Services.
