About David

David N. Vaillancourt has a broad practice in commercial litigation, competition law, and insurance coverage law at Affleck Greene McMurtry LLP, where he has been a partner since 2017. He has appeared as lead counsel in trials, hearings, motions, and appeals, and negotiates resolutions across a range of commercial and insurance disputes. His work includes fraud claims, injunctive relief, shareholder and partnership disputes, employment litigation, securities litigation, and proceedings before the Competition Tribunal. He has been recognized by Lexpert for competition law and corporate and commercial litigation, and by Best Lawyers for insurance law and corporate and commercial litigation. David was called to the Ontario bar in 2009 after articling at McCarthy Tetrault LLP, and holds a Bachelor of Laws with Distinction from the University of Western Ontario. He is a former Chair of the Reviewable Matters/Unilateral Conduct Committee of the Canadian Bar Association's Competition Law Section.
