About David

David Conklin is a partner at Goodmans and a commercial litigator whose practice covers disputes arising from mergers and acquisitions, shareholder disputes and activist campaigns, oppression claims, and civil liability for misrepresentations in securities offerings. He regularly leads internal investigations and represents issuers, directors, and officers before securities regulators, and advises boards on litigation risk. Before joining Goodmans in 2007, David was a partner at a Toronto litigation boutique. He earned an LL.M. from Columbia University in New York, focusing on capital markets and corporate governance, and in 2006 passed the New York Bar. David has taught corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions in the Schulich School of Business MBA program and the University of Toronto's GPLLM, and was inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers.
