About Colleen

Colleen M. Johel is a partner at Ridgway & Company with a large corporate and wills and estates practice. A lifelong Cowichan Valley resident, she earned her Bachelor of Arts and LL.B. from the University of Victoria and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1990 after articling with the Ministry of Attorney General in Victoria. She has practised with the firm since 1990 and served as its Managing Partner from 1997 to 2025. She has served as President of both the Cowichan Valley Bar Association and the Nanaimo County Bar Association, sat on the Board of Island Savings Credit Union for 13 years including two as Chair, and has served on the boards of the former Cowichan District Hospital, Cowichan Lake Community Services, and the Nanaimo Airport Commission.
