Clayton Rice practises criminal and regulatory law with a focus on complex drug and conspiracy cases, cybercrime, and economic crime, and has extensive experience with covert police techniques such as wiretapping and electronic surveillance warrants. He has appeared before all courts of Alberta, the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. He is designated King's Counsel and was a professor of law at the University of Alberta's Faculty of Law for a decade, teaching criminal law, evidence, and constitutional law. Mr. Rice is a founding member of the Criminal Trial Lawyers' Association and a member of the Calgary Criminal Defence Lawyers' Association, and publishes the blog On The Wire. He is called to the bar in Alberta and practises as an independent professional corporation.
