About Chuck
Chuck spent the first half of his career defending claims for large companies, insurance companies, banks and hospitals as a partner at a large regional firm, before deciding at 40 to dedicate the rest of his career to representing individuals rather than institutions. His practice now focuses on plaintiff-side tort and accident claims, long-term disability and life insurance benefit disputes, property insurance disputes, sexual assault and institutional abuse claims, mass tort and class action litigation, and professional negligence claims. He has been rated by Best Lawyers in Canada for insurance since 2012 and personal injury since 2014, and recognized by the Canadian Lexpert Directory as a leading personal injury litigation practitioner since 2015. He taught Civil Trial Practice at Dalhousie's Schulich School of Law from 2006 to 2011 and again taught second-year moot workshops from 2021 to 2023. He is past chair of the Atlantic MS Society of Canada and its National Board of Directors, and a former board member and chair of the Board of Governors at the Sacred Heart School of Halifax.
