About Suvendu
Suvendu Goswami has nearly three decades of experience as a litigation lawyer in Ontario, representing clients across civil litigation, criminal defence, family law, and immigration law. The civil litigation work covers contract breaches, property claims, tort liability, and administrative law challenges before the Superior Court of Justice and the Federal Court of Canada. In criminal matters, Goswami defends charges ranging from domestic and sexual assault to theft, fraud, and impaired driving, pursuing diversion programs and negotiated resolutions where appropriate. The family law practice covers divorce, custody, support, and property division, including high-conflict cases involving domestic violence, while the immigration work focuses on stays of removal, judicial reviews, and humanitarian and compassionate applications. Called to the Ontario Bar in 1996, Goswami holds legal qualifications from the University of Delhi, Brock University, and the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, and is fluent in English, Hindi, and Bengali.
