About Christina Kaminski

Procurement, technology contracts and charity law sit at the centre of Christina Kaminski's work in Ottawa, where Christina is an associate in Gowling WLG's Business Law Group. On procurement files, clients come from both the public and private sectors and from a broad range of industries. Christina works in English and French.

Christina earned a JD in English common law at the University of Ottawa. As a student-at-law at Gowling WLG in 2022, Christina helped a firm team advising a Markham dentist who bought out a partner's remaining half of their dental practice, and was called to the Ontario bar that same year. Christina's earlier career was in finance. As a financial analyst with the Canadian Coast Guard, Christina met with clients every month to give financial advice and analysis, and worked side by side with management on sound planning for its seagoing operations.

Trade tensions with the United States run through two 2025 articles Christina co-wrote with partners Stephanie Pearce and Graham Ragan. The first looked at Ontario's Procurement Restriction Policy, which limits U.S. businesses' access to public sector contracts in the province, and at measures other provinces, territories and cities had proposed or introduced. The second covered the Canada-EU Security and Defence Partnership and where defence procurement goes from here. On the deal side, Christina was part of the Gowling WLG team for Apogee Interactive (Brillion) when it acquired EnergyX Solutions, an Ontario company building AI software for utilities, in 2024.
