About Chris

Chris Morrison has spent 25 years in appeals and civil litigation and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada for personal injury litigation since 2023. He has argued numerous multi-million dollar civil appeals, including the largest general-damages award for wrongful death in Canadian history, and his rulings at the Court of Appeal for Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada have shaped case law on tort liability and insurance. With more than 60 reported decisions, his insurance practice touches general liability along with cyber risk, environmental exposure, builders risk, wrap-up liability, and professional negligence claims, serving national and international institutional clients. He co-leads the firm's defence practice, recognized among the Globe and Mail's Best Law Firms in Canada for insurance, and leads its subrogation practice, which has recovered millions for insurers. He frequently speaks to plaintiff and insurance bar audiences and has written on product liability, insurance law, evidence, and class proceedings.
