About Cheryl

Cheryl Hodgkin has more than 30 years of experience practicing matrimonial and divorce law, focusing on child and spousal support, decision-making responsibility, parenting time, and child mobility issues. She is experienced in the equalization of net family property, asset valuation and property division for married and common-law couples, separation, cohabitation agreements, prenuptial agreements, and marriage contracts, with extensive litigation experience. She is a graduate of the University of Windsor Law School and was the school's first graduate to clerk at the Supreme Court of Canada, where she assisted the Honourable Mr. Justice Sopinka with appeals and leave-to-appeal applications. She has taught Evidence Law as a sessional instructor at the University of Windsor's Faculty of Law for three years alongside her full-time practice and has worked as a part-time assistant Crown Attorney. She served on the Legal Aid Area Committee for Essex County and as treasurer and later president of the Essex County Family Law Lawyers' Association.
