About Caroline

Caroline Descours is a partner and co-head of the Restructuring Group at Goodmans. Her practice covers corporate restructuring and commercial insolvency matters, including Canadian, transnational, and cross-border files. She's had significant experience with corporate and insolvency restructurings, recapitalizations, acquisitions, financing transactions, and private equity work. Descours has acted as counsel for companies, secured and unsecured debtholders, purchasers, and court-appointed monitors and receivers, and she advises boards of directors on restructuring transactions and strategic alternatives. She also represents private equity funds and investors in a range of transactions. In 2020, Lexpert named her one of its Rising Stars under 40, and she's been recognized by The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, IFLR1000, Best Lawyers in Canada, and Chambers for her restructuring and insolvency work. She belongs to the Insolvency Institute of Canada.
