About Carleigh

Carleigh Bassett is a partner in WeirFoulds LLP's Corporate Practice Group, where she helps mid-market businesses and entrepreneurs work through complex transactions. She began her career at WeirFoulds before moving to an in-house role as senior counsel at BDO Canada LLP, an experience that shapes how she blends legal and business considerations for clients. Her work spans corporate structuring, governance, tax planning structures, shareholder disputes, and negotiating commercial agreements, with a particular focus on mergers and acquisitions ranging from local deals to cross-border transactions. Carleigh earned her J.D. from the University of Toronto in 2013 and a B.A. in History from the University of Victoria in 2010, and she was called to the Ontario bar in 2015. She belongs to the Canadian Bar Association and the Ontario Bar Association.
