About Brittney

Brittney Macht grew up in Winnipeg and developed an early interest in criminal justice, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Winnipeg in 2020. She began law school at the University of North Dakota before transferring to Robson Hall Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba, where she volunteered with the Community Law Centre representing clients facing criminal charges. During her final two years of law school she worked with Legal Aid Manitoba as an extern and summer student, and she articled there after graduating in 2023, gaining experience in criminal and prison law. She was called to the bar in 2024 and joined Smith Corona Cook & Munce as a criminal defence lawyer.
