Babacar Faye practices law at Black & Associates after completing a joint degree in Common Law and Political Science at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Common Law. He is a fully bilingual litigator with a wide-ranging practice that includes corporate governance, commercial litigation, labour and employment law, intentional torts, municipal and property law, and constitutional law, and he has supported members of the firm before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Divisional Court, the Superior Court, the Small Claims Court, and the Landlord and Tenant Tribunal. During law school he was heavily involved in student government, serving as the first president of the University of Ottawa Undergraduate Students' Union, and he joined Black & Associates as a student in 2022. Born in Kamsar, Guinea, he came to Canada as a refugee and grew up in the GTA. He holds an Honours B.Soc.Sc. in Political Science and a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa and is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Advocacy Club, and the County of Carleton Law Association.
