About Asha
Asha James is a managing partner at Falconers LLP, focusing her practice on public interest litigation with an emphasis on human rights, constitutional law, and access to justice. She also has a growing employment law practice advising Indigenous police services and family service agencies on human resources matters. Asha has acted in a number of high-profile hearings, including Miller v. Toronto Police Services Board and Yatim v. Toronto Police Services Board, and has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Federal Court of Appeal, and tribunals such as the Canadian and Ontario Human Rights Tribunals. A graduate of the University of Windsor Law School with both JD and LLB degrees, she completed her articles at Falconers LLP and was called to the Ontario Bar in June 2009. Asha is also a sessional instructor teaching Torts at the University of Windsor and Lakehead University law schools.
