About Anastasia-Maria
Anastasia-Maria Hountalas is a partner at Steinecke Maciura LeBlanc, where she advises and represents clients across all aspects of professional regulation and prosecutes disciplinary and regulatory offences. She also assists clients on appeal and regularly appears before the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal, and she trains statutory committees on governance and emerging regulatory issues. Anastasia-Maria co-authored Richard Steinecke's book on the Regulated Health Professions Act and contributes to the firm's Regulation Pro blog, and she is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, teaching Professional Responsibility in the Global Professional Master of Laws program. She began her career in the litigation department of a national firm with a focus on health law, and she previously served as President of Young Women in Law, where she now sits on the advisory board. She holds a law degree from Queen's University and is proficient in French.
