About Alina
Alina Petraru is a lawyer at Meridian Law Group whose practice focuses mainly on family law and civil litigation. Trained originally in Romania, she earned an LL.B. from the University of Bucharest in 2006 before moving to Canada in 2010, where she worked as a legal administrative assistant and then a paralegal. She returned to school in 2019, attending UBC's Faculty of Law to qualify to practise in British Columbia, and received her Certificate of Qualification from the Federation of Law Societies of Canada in January 2021. Alina was called to the bar in August 2022 and joined Meridian Law Group as associate counsel in January 2025. She has appeared before the Provincial Court and Supreme Court of British Columbia and focuses on educating clients about court procedures and dispute resolution alternatives.
