About Abby
Abby Abada is a dual-licensed lawyer and Notary Public, called to the bar in both Nigeria and Ontario. She earned her LL.B and LL.M from Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife, Nigeria, and completed her professional training at the Nigerian Law School in Abuja before practising corporate-commercial and real estate law in Nigeria. After moving to Canada she was called to the Ontario bar in March 2023, articled with the Special Investigations Unit, and worked as an Assistant Crown Attorney with the Ministry of the Attorney General. She joined Barefoot Law in March 2026, moving from criminal prosecution to criminal defence, and now practises bail hearings, trials, sentencing and related matters in the Walkerton and Owen Sound courts, accepting Legal Aid certificates on the Criminal and Gladue panels. She is a member of the Criminal Lawyers' Association and the Grey County Law Association.
