About A.

A. John Lakes grew up in North Vancouver and returned there to practice law in 1981 after working in Prince Rupert and downtown Vancouver. In 1986 he partnered with James Straith to found what became Lakes, Whyte LLP. His practice is a solicitor's practice focused on wills and estates, small business law, and real estate. He earned his law degree from UBC in 1976 and was called to the BC bar in 1977. He has been involved with the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, North Shore Neighbourhood House, the North Shore Disability Resource Centre, and has taught courses for the Continuing Legal Education Society and People's Law School.
