About OWL Law

OWL Law, short for Ontario Workplace Lawyers, is an employment law firm with offices in Ottawa and Toronto. The firm was co-founded by Stephen Dam, who works out of the Ottawa office, and Matthew Langer, who works out of the Toronto office. Dam holds a Bachelor of Finance from the University of Ottawa and a Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law. Langer holds a Bachelor of History from McMaster University and also earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law.

OWL Law limits its practice to employment law, taking on wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, human rights claims, and termination package reviews. Matthew Langer's bio on the firm's team page says Langer represents clients at all levels of court in Ontario along with multiple tribunals, including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal and Commission, and the Ontario Labour Relations Board. The firm describes itself as client centric and says it aims to give practical, affordable employment law advice. Though it's based in both Ottawa and Toronto, OWL Law says it serves clients across the rest of Ontario too, including through virtual consultations.
