Free consultationLaw Smith is the registered business name of Patrick Raghavan Smith Law Professional Corporation, a small Toronto law firm and consultancy that works with clients across Canada. Patrick Smith, who holds a B.Com, an LL.B. and an LL.M. with a concentration in law and technology, was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2017 and founded the firm in 2022.
Before founding Law Smith, Smith took part in drafting and passing Bill C-11, the Online Streaming Act, which amended the Broadcasting Act. That background shapes one of the firm's main areas of work, advising broadcasters, producers and other industry stakeholders as the CRTC builds out its new regulatory framework for streaming. The firm also handles entertainment and production law, including CAVCO certification and tax credit applications for film and television projects, along with estate planning and real estate transactions and disputes, an area where Smith has also argued cases before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
Law Smith describes itself as founded by members of the BIPOC community and has published a formal commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. It offers a free initial consultation and meets clients in person, by phone or online.

Free consultationLaw Smith's Toronto office is at 124 Merton St, in a commercial building in Davisville Village, a couple of blocks east of Yonge Street near Davisville Avenue in midtown Toronto.
Davisville Village is one of the city's more densely built, transit connected neighbourhoods, with much of its housing stock made up of apartment and condo towers built up around the Yonge subway line since the 1970s. For a firm that meets many of its clients by phone or online and serves people across the country, a location close to a subway stop keeps the occasional in person meeting simple.
