Gilbert's LLP is a Toronto law firm that focuses on intellectual property, life sciences, and Indigenous law. Tim Gilbert founded the firm in 2001 after working at large Bay Street firms and smaller litigation practices, and according to the firm's own account, it started with little more than a cellphone and a briefcase. The early practice was housed in Toronto's Flatiron Building before moving to its current home at the Waterfront Innovation Centre. One of its first major mandates was developing a strategy for the pharmaceutical company Apotex to enter the US generic drug market. That advocacy before Congress helped shape the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 and led to an invitation to the White House Rose Garden when the administration endorsed the approach.

Today the firm's work spans IP litigation and strategy, patents, trademarks and copyright, corporate-commercial matters, and life sciences regulatory and patent litigation covering pharmaceuticals, biologics, and medical devices. It also runs an Aboriginal and Indigenous law practice that handles land claims, treaty and section 35 rights, the duty to consult, self-governance, and economic development. Gilbert's also operates Slingshot, a subscription-based legal service for early-stage companies, and is affiliated with Gilbert's Solutions, a consultancy that works on policy, impact investing, and Indigenous reconciliation. Beyond Toronto, the firm keeps offices in New York and London, UK.
