About Emerge Law

Emerge Law is a Toronto business and health law firm that Hani Al-Dajane founded in 2019 to build what the firm calls "a new kind of law firm." The practice is based in the city's Financial District and works mainly with two client groups: health care professionals such as dentists, pharmacists, and physicians, and entrepreneurs building startups. Emerge Law Professional Corporation bills on a fixed fee or hourly basis and accepts payment by e-transfer or credit card, alongside more traditional invoicing.

Al-Dajane holds a J.D. from the University of Ottawa and a B.B.A. and Master of Industrial Relations and Human Resources from the University of Toronto, and advises businesses on formation, employment matters, regulatory compliance, and the purchase and sale of dental and pharmacy practices. The firm's other lawyer, Ephraim Barrera, holds a Master of Laws concentrating in law and technology and is working toward a Ph.D. focused on AI regulation, alongside a corporate, employment, and privacy law practice.

The firm also built Dental Assyst, a free hub of legal documents, video lessons, and guidance for dental practice owners, covering topics from buying and selling a practice to employee handbooks. Its blog extends the same practical, sector focused approach to pharmacists, physicians, optometrists, naturopaths, and startup founders.
