About Chagpar Law

Chagpar Law is a personal injury firm based in Toronto, founded in 2012 by Salina F. Chagpar. Chagpar earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in 1988 and a Bachelor of Administrative Studies in 1989, then an LL.B. from the University of Windsor and a J.D. from the University of Detroit, and was called to the Ontario bar in 1994. Before starting an independent practice, Chagpar spent 18 years as a senior partner at Lofranco Chagpar in Toronto, working exclusively on personal injury files.

The firm now represents people hurt in car, motorcycle, bicycle, and pedestrian accidents, along with slip and fall, catastrophic injury, long term disability, CPP disability, and wrongful death claims across the Greater Toronto Area, including Brampton, Mississauga, and Scarborough. It works on a contingency fee basis, so clients pay nothing upfront, and offers a free initial consultation. Staff can assist clients in Chinese as well as English. Chagpar belongs to the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the Advocates Society, and the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association.

The neighbourhood

Chagpar Law's Toronto office sits at 2100 Avenue Road in North York, right where Avenue Road meets Wilson Avenue just south of Highway 401. It's a mostly residential stretch of the city, and the 401 access makes it a reasonable stop for clients coming in from anywhere in the GTA to talk about a crash that happened somewhere else entirely, on that highway, on the Don Valley Parkway, or on a side street closer to home. The firm keeps a second office on Traders Boulevard East in Mississauga, so clients on that side of the region don't have to cross the whole city to meet with someone.

The firm also runs a phone line staffed in Chinese, alongside general intake in English, which matters in a part of the GTA with a lot of newer immigrant communities working through the insurance system for the first time after an accident.
