About Askani Law

Askani Law is a Toronto immigration and litigation firm founded by Navis Askani, a barrister and solicitor. The firm is based at 5000 Yonge Street in North York and represents clients across Canada, handling matters that range from routine visa and permit applications to litigation before the Federal Court of Canada.

Askani holds a B.A. (Honours) from the University of Toronto and a Graduate Entry LL.B. from the University of Sussex Law School in the United Kingdom. Before founding the firm, Askani worked in corporate immigration at a Bay Street law firm, advising multinational clients on work permits and cross border mobility, then articled at a Toronto immigration and human rights practice, gaining experience in litigation and complex immigration advocacy. That mix of corporate and human rights work now shows up in the firm's caseload, which spans Express Entry and provincial nominee applications, family sponsorship, refugee claims, and appeals to the Immigration and Refugee Board and the Federal Court.

Askani Law also takes on some non-immigration work. It advises technology and digital media businesses on software development, licensing, and intellectual property ownership, and offers general liability and risk management consultation to other kinds of businesses.
