TAS Law Office is a Toronto immigration, family, and criminal defence practice run by lawyer Teklemichael Abebe Sahlemariam. The firm handles refugee claims, family reunification and sponsorship, permanent residency, citizenship applications, and work and study permits, along with criminal defence work covering charge representation, bail hearings, appeals, and negotiations. Its office is on Danforth Avenue near Pape Avenue, at the eastern end of the strip most Torontonians know as Greektown, and the firm describes itself on its website as having worked with clients from more than 30 countries and handled over 1,500 cases.

Sahlemariam's own history is tied closely to that client base. The founder arrived in Canada in 2005 after fleeing Ethiopia in 2001 and spending four years as a refugee in Kenya, later earning a law degree from the University of British Columbia and a master's degree from the University of Ottawa before being called to the Ontario bar in 2014. Sahlemariam has since spoken publicly about the refugee determination process, telling ByBlacks.com magazine that for many clients, "we are not just their lawyers, we also act as their therapist to provide them with emotional support."
