Anand & Siu LLP is a small intellectual property litigation firm in Toronto, founded by lawyers Nisha Anand and Kevin Siu. Managing IP covered the launch in early 2026, describing a next generation practice built around tech smart practitioners, flexible fees, and specialized expertise. The firm works out of Suite 2200 at 181 University Avenue, within Law Chambers, an office suite for independent lawyers and small firms.
The practice concentrates on patent, trademark, and copyright litigation, with particular depth in pharmaceutical and life sciences disputes, including cases under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations, and in standards essential patent matters. As registered trademark agents, the founders also manage trademark portfolios and represent clients before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and the Federal Court. More recently the firm has taken on artificial intelligence law and maintains a public tracker of AI related litigation across Canada.
Before founding the firm, Nisha Anand was a partner at Gilbert's LLP and holds a PhD in molecular biology, genetics, and cancer from McMaster University along with a law degree from the University of Toronto. Kevin Siu trained first as an engineer, with a University of Toronto engineering science degree and prior work as a software developer, before moving into intellectual property law. Associate Hannah Goold joined soon after launch, having articled with the IP group at a national firm in Ottawa.
Anand & Siu LLP works out of Suite 2200 at 181 University Avenue, in Law Chambers, an office suite for independent lawyers and small firms in Toronto's financial district. The building, known as DBRS Tower/Adelaide Place, connects to the PATH network and sits a short walk from the St. Andrew subway station.
The address suits a litigation firm. University Avenue is also home to Osgoode Hall and the Toronto Courthouse, and the Federal Court of Canada's Toronto registry, which hears the patent, trademark, and copyright cases at the centre of the firm's practice, is a short walk away on Queen Street West.
