About Nisha

Nisha Anand is a co-founder and partner at Anand & Siu LLP, where she practices intellectual property litigation before the Ontario Superior Court and the Federal Court of Canada. Her work focuses mainly on patent litigation in the pharmaceutical, telecommunications, and oil and gas sectors, and she advises pharmaceutical clients on regulatory matters with Health Canada. She has represented both brand-name and generic drug companies in patent infringement actions under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations, and she has litigated standards-essential patent and FRAND disputes in the software and telecommunications industries. Before law, she completed a PhD in molecular biology, genetics and cancer at McMaster University, then earned her law degree from the University of Toronto. She is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and belongs to the Trial Law Institute and Diversity Law Institute, and she volunteers judging moots and mentoring young lawyers.
