Julia Martin Law is a one-lawyer Ottawa firm that practises exclusively in professional regulation and discipline law across Ontario. Founder Julia Martin has worked in this field for more than 30 years, representing regulated professionals, professional associations, and regulators themselves, often in the same kinds of disputes. Clients include physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dental hygienists, doctors, dietitians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, veterinarians, engineers, accountants, and trustees in bankruptcy. The firm handles registration matters, responses to complaints before bodies such as the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee (ICRC), and discipline and fitness to practise proceedings.

Martin's career started at a large Toronto law firm, then moved to a smaller practice where a focus on professional regulation developed. In 1997, Martin was one of three lawyers who founded Steinecke Martin Maciura, described at the time as the only firm in Ontario practising exclusively in this area; it's known today as Steinecke Maciura Leblanc. Martin opened an independent Ottawa practice in 2005 and continues to advise regulators and associations on bylaws, disciplinary procedures, and membership standards, along with health law work such as treatment consent documents and privacy compliance for clinics. The firm works with clients across Ontario, including Toronto, Ottawa, Hamilton, Kitchener/Waterloo, and Niagara, and offers a free initial consultation.
