About Julia

Julia Martin has more than 30 years of experience in professional regulation law, advising regulated professionals, professional associations, and regulators across Ontario. She represents professionals in registration matters, complaints, discipline and fitness-to-practise hearings, and appearances before bodies such as the Inquiries, Complaints and Reports Committee (ICRC). Martin began her career at one of Canada's largest law firms in Toronto before moving to a smaller firm focused on professional regulation. In 1997, she co-founded Steinecke Martin Maciura (now Steinecke Maciura Leblanc), the only Ontario firm at the time devoted exclusively to professional regulation, and since 2005 she has run her own practice in the area. She represents professionals across many regulated fields, including physicians, nurses, dentists, psychologists, social workers, veterinarians, and lawyers, and also advises regulators and professional associations directly.
