About Charlebois Associates

Charlebois Associates is a small law firm in London, Ontario, made up of lawyers and paralegals who work almost exclusively in management-side workers' compensation law for employers across the province. The practice is led by Cézanne Charlebois, who was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2006 and is one of Ontario's 11 Certified Specialists in Workplace Safety and Insurance Law. Before law school, Charlebois earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in sociology from the University of Windsor, along with a certificate in criminology and criminal justice, and worked as a probation and parole officer for the Ministry of Correctional Services and as a sessional instructor at the university, teaching law and society, criminology, and penology.

The firm handles claims management and appeals under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act at the WSIB Appeals Branch and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal, including occupational disease claims and cost relief work, for employers in trucking, mining, construction, manufacturing, hospitals, and municipalities, and it also takes on WSIB files subcontracted by accounting firms, insurance companies, and other law firms without in-house workers' compensation expertise. Alongside claims and appeals, Charlebois Associates runs full day training courses for employers, supervisors, and managers on due diligence, the Internal Responsibility System, and other WSIB and occupational health and safety topics.
