About Agro Zaffiro LLP

Agro Zaffiro LLP is a full service law firm that traces its roots to 1949, when founder John Agro was called to the Bar of Ontario and set up practice in Hamilton after returning from service as a Canadian Army captain in the Second World War. John Agro and Nicholas Zaffiro later grew the practice together with a group of partners the firm still credits as its early pioneers: Donald Cooper, John Parente, Edward Orzel, William Hubar, and Michael Baker. The firm has called Hamilton home for over 70 years, and while it keeps a single office in the city, its lawyers have taken on matters in Toronto, Barrie, Windsor, London, Niagara Falls, and other Ontario centres.

Agro Zaffiro's lawyers work across most areas of civil practice, including business law, commercial litigation, employment law, family law, insurance defence, mediation, personal injury, real estate and land development, wills and trusts, and estate and capacity litigation. The firm says it currently has over 25 lawyers on staff. It also runs a long standing articling program: it almost exclusively hires its associates out of that program, and more than 90% of its current partners started there as articling students.
