About Ellery Law

Ellery Law is a small firm based in downtown Timmins, Ontario, also known locally as EEP Law. It's an association of lawyers operating as a professional corporation. Justin Ellery has practised law since 1986 and opened an independent Timmins practice in 1992. Leonard Ellery joined in 1998, and the firm operated for years as Ellery, Cox & Ellery, later Ellery, Ellery & Ellery, before settling on the name Ellery Law. The current team includes Justin Ellery and Dominika Ellery, who has practised since 2014 after returning to Timmins to complete articles.

The firm's work centers on family law, criminal defence, real estate, wills and estates, and corporate and commercial matters, plus highway traffic offences. Justin Ellery has spent more than three decades representing Northern Ontario Children's Aid Societies, among them Northeastern Ontario Child and Family Services, Payukotayno James and Hudson Bay Family Services, the Children's Aid Society of the Districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin, and Kunuwanimano Child and Family Services, and has been the only private adoption licensee in North Eastern Ontario since 1991. That work means regular travel to fly-in courts along the James and Hudson Bay coastlines and long-standing advocacy for First Nations clients in the Mushkegowuk and Wabun regions. Ellery Law accepts Legal Aid certificates and doesn't charge for an initial consultation.
