About Justin

Justin Ellery was born and raised in Timmins and has practiced law in the community for more than three decades. He earned an undergraduate degree from St. Michael's College at the University of Toronto and graduated from the University of Windsor's law school in 1984, later opening his own practice in Timmins in 1992. His practice covers criminal law, real estate, wills and estates, commercial law, and family law, with a particular focus on child protection matters; he now represents parents in Children's Aid Society proceedings after decades representing various Children's Aid Societies in Northeastern Ontario. He is the only private adoption licensee in Northeastern Ontario and has served First Nations clients in the Mushkegowuk and Wabun regions since his first year of practice, regularly attending fly-in courts along the James and Hudson Bay coastline.
