About Zul

Zul Verjee, K.C., is the managing partner and founder of Verjee Law, which he established nearly two decades ago after more than a decade as an associate and then partner at an international law firm. He was appointed King's Counsel by the Government of Alberta in 2012 and has practised in insurance and commercial litigation for over 30 years, appearing before all levels of court in Alberta and the Federal Court of Canada. His work spans general liability, commercial disputes, personal injury, fatality claims, construction and fire losses, oil and gas litigation, partnership disputes, and employment litigation, and he has acted as counsel in over 100 mediations and judicial dispute resolution conferences. He is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America and a mentor with the Law Society of Alberta's Mentor Connect program, and has taught claims management at the University of Calgary.
