About Yifang

Yifang Zhao is a commercial lawyer with a particular interest in energy, clean technology, infrastructure, and waste management. She drafts, reviews, and negotiates a wide range of contracts, including professional services, procurement, construction, financing, and non-disclosure agreements, and advises clients on privacy and personal information protection. She previously spent nearly five years as legal counsel at Enerkem, a clean biofuels producer, supporting regulatory compliance and construction law matters alongside the company's litigation files. Yifang articled with the Superior Court of Quebec and interned with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in the Netherlands, and completed an internship with Dentons in China. She holds an LL.B. from the Université de Montréal, a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, and an LL.M. from McGill University, and was admitted to the Ontario bar in 2019.
