W. Laird Hunter, K.C., is recognized as a leader in charity law in Canada and has advised on charity and not-for-profit law for more than 45 years. He collaborates closely with John Toogood to advise organizations and other lawyers across Alberta and every Canadian province and territory on topics including CRA compliance, charity registrations, incorporation, bylaws, corporate structure, governance, and social enterprise. Hunter has intervened in two high-profile charity law cases before the Supreme Court of Canada, and his work has included support for organizations such as The Muttart Foundation and The Pemsel Case Foundation.
