About Timothy
Timothy O'Hara is the fifth generation of his family to live in Alberta, tracing back to a great-great-grandfather who homesteaded near Bulwark in 1905, though Tim himself was raised in Ontario before coming to Alberta in 1977. He earned a specialist undergraduate degree in English Literature from the University of Toronto in 1976, worked briefly for the Bank of Montreal in Calgary, and graduated with his law degree from the University of Calgary in 1981, before being admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1982. His practice has evolved from commercial litigation into corporate, commercial, real estate, and wills and estates work, though he has touched nearly every area of law over his career, including criminal and family matters. He has prepared more than 850 wills, served as a Bar Admission Adjudicator and a Chinook Learning Services Instructor, and is a representative lawyer on four decisions reported in provincial and national report services. Tim believes disputes are resolved once each side respects the other's position, even without agreeing with it.
