About Stephen
Stephen Schachter is one of British Columbia's top appellate and trial lawyers, with a practice focused on corporate commercial litigation, class actions, and securities matters. He regularly appears before the British Columbia Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court of Canada, and the BC Securities Commission. Schachter was called to the British Columbia bar in 1978 and holds an LL.B. and a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of British Columbia. He was appointed King's Counsel in 2001 and has been ranked as a Litigation Star by Benchmark Canada since 2012. He has taught at Continuing Legal Education courses and UBC's advocacy training program, and formerly chaired the Civil Litigation section of the CBA's BC branch.
