About Stephen
Stephen Bird is a founding partner of Bird Richard and has spent his entire career representing employers in labour and employment law matters. A former in-house labour law counsel to the country's largest Crown Corporation, he has been a management-side practitioner in private practice since 1992, appearing in hundreds of labour arbitrations and acting as chief negotiator in numerous collective agreement negotiations. He has appeared at all levels of the Ontario and Federal Courts and before federal and provincial labour boards. He has been recognized as one of Canada's Top 100 Employment Lawyers and a Leading Labour Lawyer by LEXPERT, and is a Fellow of the American College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. He is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Bars of Alberta and Nunavut.
