About Stanley

Stanley Berger advises select nuclear energy suppliers, operators, waste companies, and manufacturers on environmental, nuclear, energy, and regulatory law matters. Before moving into private practice in 2013, he spent 14 years as Assistant General Counsel at Ontario Power Generation, handling licensing, environmental assessment, regulatory compliance, and waste management for the utility's nuclear division. Earlier in his career he served as Deputy Director of the Law Division for Prosecutions at the Ontario Ministry of Environment from 1989 to 1997, managing prosecution staff and shaping enforcement policy. Stanley founded the Canadian Nuclear Law Organization, led it as president from 2008 to 2015, and remains on its board; he also previously served as president of the International Nuclear Law Association. He has taught nuclear law internationally and publishes a quarterly review on environmental prosecutions.
