About Stan

Stan Tessmer founded Tessmer Law in 1985, originally focusing on impaired driving cases before moving into drug related and search and seizure matters. In 1997 he moved his practice to Kelowna to serve the Okanagan. He has appeared twice before the Supreme Court of Canada and won both times, including a notable acquittal in the 'Jelly Bean Murderer' case in Gastown, Vancouver. He has commented on legal developments for CBC and expanded the firm's practice in 2008 to include Aboriginal law, civil and commercial litigation, commercial-corporate law, construction law, and real estate and conveyancing.
