About Stacey
Stacey Soldier is a partner at Cochrane Sinclair from Swan Lake First Nation (Gaabiskigamaag). She graduated from the University of Manitoba's Faculty of Law in 2007 and was called to the Manitoba Bar in 2008. Her practice focuses on criminal law and child protection law, including trial litigation and representing survivors of sexual violence in section 276 and 278 Criminal Code applications. She previously worked as a Prosecuting Agent for the Public Prosecution Service of Canada and served as co-counsel for the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs at the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. Since 2019 she has taught criminal justice, family law, and Indigenous issues at the University of Manitoba's Robson Hall. In 2025 she became the first Anishinaabe woman to serve as President of the Manitoba Bar Association.
