About Spencer

Spencer Keys is the managing lawyer at Charthouse Lawyers, the Sunshine Coast's law firm for business, estates, and real estate matters. Before law school he worked for several years as a government relations professional, explaining the practical effects of new laws and policies to elected officials. He holds degrees in law, philosophy, and political science, along with a diploma in accounting, from the University of British Columbia, where he served as president of the Alma Mater Society and edited the UBC International Law Journal. Keys is a Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP), a designation from the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners recognizing expertise in estate planning, administration, and tax, and he's the only TEP on the Sunshine Coast. He has written for national outlets including The Globe and Mail and Maclean's, and serves as a trustee with the Sechelt Downtown Business Association. He lives in Gibsons with his family.
