About Colin
Colin is a University of Alberta law graduate and has been a member of the Law Society of Alberta since 1998. He has pursued a diverse legal and business career spanning Edmonton and, since 2003, Ottawa, and joined the firm to accelerate its technology mission. He has held founding roles in a legal publisher, a legal data non-profit, a legal AI startup, and an education startup for lawyers, and has consulted with courts, tribunals, regulators, bar associations, law schools, and law firms on technology and AI. He previously served as Innovator-in-Residence for the Ontario Bar Association, interim GM for North America of vLex, and CEO of the Canadian Legal Information Institute (CanLII) from 2011 to 2015. He was named one of Canadian Lawyer Magazine's 'Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers,' an ABA Journal 'Legal Rebel,' and a member of the Fastcase 50.
