About Donna

Donna is the Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Donna Purcell QC Law, practising mainly in serious personal injury and fatality claims, insurance, business (with a focus on innovation and technology), and employment law. Born and raised in Montreal, she now lives in Calgary and Red Deer, Alberta. A legal tech evangelist for over two decades, she advocates for digital transformation to improve access to justice, and her firm operates paperless and in the cloud while maintaining hybrid, in-person service. She was named a 2021 Top 25 Most Influential Lawyer (Changemaker) by Canadian Lawyer Magazine, the 2022 Business Leader of the Year in central Alberta, received the Gary J. Bigg Champion of Justice and President's Awards from the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association, a Women In Law Leadership Award, and the King Charles III Coronation Medal in 2025. She writes a regular column, 'Lady Justice,' in the Red Deer Advocate.
