About Sheyla

Sheyla Gamboa practises family and immigration law. She began her legal career in her home country in 2001, focusing on family law, and after moving to Canada she completed her law studies before joining a Montreal firm specializing in family and immigration law in 2013. She opened her own practice, Gamboa Avocat, in 2018. Her caseload includes divorce, spousal and child support, custody and filiation matters, and in immigration law she focuses mainly on representing asylum seekers before the Immigration and Refugee Board. She is also a family mediator and appears regularly before the courts, and is involved with several community organizations, including centres serving women who are victims of domestic violence and various legal aid centres.
