He holds a bachelor's degree in human resources management from HEC Montréal and a law degree from the Université du Québec à Montréal. Before practising law, he spent close to fifteen years in senior human resources and labour relations roles at unionized companies in industrial maintenance, metallurgy, and mining, including organizations with more than 10,000 employees across Canada. Pelletier was sworn in as a lawyer in 2009 and has been a member of the Barreau du Québec for more than a dozen years; he founded his own firm in 2017 after more than five years in private practice on his own. He became an accredited mediator for the Court of Québec's small claims division in 2018 and an accredited arbitrator in 2024, and he has negotiated collective agreements and advised employees, executives, and companies on employment statutes, regulations, and the interpretation of collective agreements. His practice also covers workplace discipline, and he has helped companies develop policies on absenteeism, hiring, social media use, and occupational health and safety.
