About Shannon
Shannon Aldinger has practiced family law for over 20 years. She graduated from McGill University in 1992 and Dalhousie Law School in 1995, then worked for 15 years at a Vancouver litigation firm specializing in family law and civil sexual abuse claims. In 2012 she moved to the Comox Valley and opened her own practice, Aldinger Family Law, becoming a certified family law mediator in 2017. Shannon handles negotiation, mediation, and court representation in family law matters, including parenting arrangements, support, property division, and family violence, and she co-chairs the Trial Lawyers Association of BC's Family Law Committee. She has published and presented on coercive control and family violence, including with the Federation of Law Societies of Canada, and has advocated for consent education in BC schools as an elected school trustee for the City of Courtenay.
